Another Psychiatrist indicted on Medicare fraud

As seen in this report from WQAD

An Illinois federal grand jury has indicted a former administrator at a now-closed psychiatric hospital in Lemont on charges that he bilked Medicare out of more than 875 thousand dollars.

Psychiatrist Naseem Chaudhry practiced at Rock Creek Center from 1998 to 1999 and also served as assistant medical director from 1999 until the facility abruptly shut down in September 2002.

The hospital submitted bills to the federal Medicare program for mostly elderly patients. According to the indictment, Chaudhry allegedly falsified some reimbursement requests and inflated others.

The 14-count indictment contends the 49-year-old Downers Grove resident often didn't perform intake psychiatric examinations of new patients, but billed Medicare for them. It says he also submitted bills for psychotherapy sessions that he didn't hold
