Another fine product of the psych industry

Woman accused of stabbing therapist husband to death

A suburban housewife serving as her own attorney at her murder trial insisted in closing arguments that she was being framed, and had no choice but to kill her husband in self defense.
Woman convicted in therapist husband's death
A suburban housewife was convicted Friday of stabbing to death her millionaire psychotherapist husband. She was 14 when she met Felix Polk, who was her therapist. She was 24 when she married him.

During the trial, jurors heard bizarre testimony from the defendant about psychics, secret agents and the daily physical abuse Polk claimed to have endured during a relationship that spanned three decades.
The verdict, reached on the fourth day of deliberations, rejects the housewife's claim that she was acting in self-defense when she stabbed her psychologist husband 27 times.

Strange Tidbit:

Susan Polk first stood trial for murder in October 2005 with prominent defense lawyer Daniel Horowitz by her side.

Just three days after opening statements, Horowitz discovered his wife's murdered body on property where the couple was building their dream home. A mistrial was declared in light of the circumstances. For her retrial, Polk opted not to hire another lawyer.
