A psychiatrist faces suspension for failing to treat properly a teenager shortly before the youth bashed his mother's boyfriend to death five years ago. According to this report in the West Australian online, the Medical Board of WA ruled yesterday that Dr Zdenek Srna's inaction following a one-hour appointment with the 17-year-old nine days before the killing amounted to gross carelessness. But it said there was no evidence to back claims he was incompetent. The youth's family has launched civil proceedings against Dr Srna.
